Get the inside scoop from our host:
They came, they saw, they told all

Tyler Harcott is the host of The Bachelor Canada, a nine-episode romantic reality series airing on Citytv fall 2012.

Harcott is a Canadian TV personality originally from Calgary, Alberta, who began his entertainment career in radio as a disc jockey in Red Deer, Alberta. It wasn’t until he travelled halfway around the world to Hong Kong before he moved into television where he hosted a trio of programs for StarTV.

Through his work with StarTV, Harcott got to indulge in one of his greatest passions – travel. He had the pleasure of experiencing the wonders of South East Asia and the Middle East, hosting shows in culture-rich locales such as India, Dubai and Indonesia to name a few.

He returned to Canada and began hosting, writing and producing the nightly live entertainment show “Wired” for A-Channel Calgary.

Harcott moved then to Los Angeles and got the opportunity to host an American high stakes, daredevil stunt show “I Dare You!” for UPN. This created an even bigger opportunity for him when he landed the host role for the Emmy-nominated series “Junkyard Wars” for TLC.

Eventually Tyler left the junkyard and relocated to New York City where he helmed his first design-themed program, Style Network’s “Guess Who’s Coming To Decorate?” This was clearly not enough excitement for him as he simultaneously made his network debut as host of the design competition show “The Complex: Malibu” for FOX.

Harcott’s steady stream of successful host roles gained him a solid reputation in the industry with his own unique style and personality that sets him apart. He broadened his hosting resume when he took on one of the most interesting challenges of his career – living on a cruise ship with 50 Miss America pageant contestants and hosting TLC’s “Miss America: Countdown To The Crown.”

He’s looking forward to his next adventure hosting Canada’s first The Bachelor series, The Bachelor Canada.

Outside of work, Tyler enjoys playing hockey, traveling and attending tea parties hosted by his daughter.

And then there was one

by

IT’S BIANKA! And then there was one, and her name is Bianka Kamber. If you didn’t shed a tear watching the last five minutes of the The Bachelor Canada finale then you are either heartless, (my first agent), or one of the robots Bill Gates has to clean his pool (soulless). With a soundtrack provided [...]

The Women Tell All is one of the most popular episodes of any Bachelor season.

Can You Live This Fantasy Life? This week Aldo Nova was finally proven right…life is just a fantasy. In our case, a fantasy date, three of them to be exact. Our bachelor Brad did not spare the spareribs when it came to picking these sojourns. Let’s start with our first adventure… Bianka vs. The Iceberg [...]

“Mr. Smith, choose wisely” -Gabrielle I start with that quote from the end of last night’s episode because it was so perfectly placed and delivered. It really sums up where Brad is as he heads out on his fantasy dates. With four ladies left there was still a great deal of learning to be done, [...]

Time to open up

by

Time to open up… When Brad cut four of the bachelorettes last week he was clearly sending a message. The days of jockeying for position and cutting in on each other’s time were over. Superficial beauty would not be enough to cut ice this week. Brad wanted to get to know these women on a [...]

Give a little, get a little…or nothing at all. Phew, I told you it was going to be quite a ride, and I always keep my promises. I couldn’t have been happier to see my Canadian neck of the woods (cattle country/Southern Alberta) on display in Episode 3. Salt of the earth folks who are [...]

Thanksgiving Bachelor Style

by

Thanksgiving Bachelor Style This past weekend, Canadians celebrated Thanksgiving. The Bachelor Canada fans gathered around dining tables to share in a great meal surrounded by friends and family. Many announced what they were “thankful” for before the first slice of turkey was eaten. For some, it’s health and success. For others, it’s the chance to [...]

Light on, it’s go time.

by

Every rose has its thorn… Darn you Brett Michaels, and your power ballad wisdom! I can only compare the first day of production to a wedding day or game 7 of a Stanley Cup Final in the sense of anticipation and nerves. We knew there would be only one chance to get the first night [...]

“How would you feel about hosting The Bachelor…?” That’s how the phone call with my agent began. “I’d love to,” I responded. “Now, what if I told you it was The Bachelor…Canada?” I could sense the trepidation in his voice. “Absolutely!” I enthusiastically replied. “What do they need from me?” I soon found out, a [...]
