Bachelorette Chantelle was the latest guest to our Live Chat. Here are the questions and answers from her chat:
First question for Chantelle: if you were offered the chance to be the first Canadian Bachelorette, would you do it?
I would definitely consider it! It would be such an honour to be asked to be the first Canadian bachelorette.
Next question for Chantelle: What was your experience like on the show?
I truly enjoyed every minute of it! Brad is such a great guy, and took me on some amazing dates. It was a fabulous experience getting to know him. Living with all the girls in the mansion was also a blast. I developed some great friendships that I hope will last a lifetime.
Chantelle, do you think Brad made the right decision with the 4 girls he picked?
If Brad feels like those are the right girls for him, then I support his choices. I liked all the girls in the house, so I am happy with whoever he decides to be with.
Next question: Was it a hard decision for you to choose to be with Brad or to go
back with your family?
It was a very difficult decision, yes. I have to admit, when I first left the mansion, I wasn’t certain if I had made the right choice. However, after watching the episodes, I saw that Brad’s connections were stronger with a few of the other girls. If I had gotten the one-on-one date that week, things could have possibly turned out different. I truly believe that all things happen for a reason though.
Chantelle, Since Brad didn’t turn out to be your match, what would be your ideal match – who would be your celebrity crush?
My all-time celebrity crush would have to be Heath Ledger. I also love Ryan Gosling and Channing Tatum.
Hi Chantelle, just wondering who you are rooting for to win Brads heart?
My vote is Kara! #teamkara
Chantelle – you were so sweet on the show, and I was so impressed with how you were proud of your morals, and weren’t afraid to be yourself! Did any of the girls react adversely to your positive bubbly attitude? If so, how did you deal with it?
There was defnitely some girls who didn’t think I was genuine at first. However, over time, and after developing our friendships, they began to realize that I am sincere and this is just who I am!
Hey Chantelle, What’s your motto/quote in life ?
Be the change you wish to see in the world! – Gandhi
Chantelle, Are you watching alone, or do you have a great group of friends who are supporting you through this?
I have a great group of girlfriends that are supporting me through this – absolutely!
Hey Chantelle, I’m just wondering which date that you went on was your favorite, and which one that you didn’t go on do you wish you had?
My favourite date was definitely the lumberjack competition – cause my team won! – followed by a private concert with Dean Brody! And the date I wish I got to go on was Paris. I’ve never been and it’s always been a dream travel destination of mine!
Victoria is my hometown – what did you think of it? Did you get to sightsee somewhat while you were there?
I think Victoria is beautiful! I unfortunately didn’t get to sight-see much though so I would love to travel there again soon and explore more!
Chantelle, what would you do if you were on the hometown date with Brad?
I actually had it all planned out! We were going to go to a surf shop in my hometown of Sylvan Lake, pick out some cool beach outfits, visit an ice cream shop, and then go wakeboarding or some sort of water sport! Then we were going to go to my parents and have a BBQ!
Chantelle, what was your favourite quality of Brad’s?
He is so funny! I definitely appreciate that quality about him. He was also a real gentleman and really respected my values and beliefs.
what’s your favorite movie at the moment..?
My favourite movie of all time is The Notebook! Always has been and always will be
Chantelle – if a guy was to cook you a meal on a date, what would be your favourite meal that he could prepare?
My favourite meal would honestly be something simple, like a salad, chicken, and a chocolatey desert!
If you could do a duet with any artist who would it be?
I’m not a very good singer but I would love to do a duet with Taylor Swift! I love her style and country music!
If you could choose the perfect date what would it be?
I love to travel and am very adventurous. My ideal date would be somewhere tropical where me and my date could go for a hike, go cliff jumping and then enjoy a picnic!
Favorite moment in the house?
My favourite moment in the house was hanging out and getting to know all the girls. Early morning exercise with Michelle B. was lots of fun too. We would often go for runs and do yoga before the rest of the mansion woke up.
Chantelle, was it easy being yourself in front of all the cameras
Absolutely! I thought it would be difficult but I really felt at ease and forgot they were there!
Chantelle, if you could go back and change one thing that you did on the show, what would it be?
I would maybe be a bit more aggressive when it came to rose ceremonies and stealing time away with Brad. It was difficult to get any one-on-one time with him!
Chantelle,How much shopping did you do before coming on the show? Did you borrow outfits from your girlfriends?
I didn’t have too much time to shop since I was getting things organized at work. I had to drive to Edmonton so I only had 2 days in the end to do all my shopping. I did borrow a few outfits from friends as well.
What’s your favourite place that you travelled to so far, in all of your travels?
My favourite place I’ve ever travelled to is Israel. It’s absolutely stunning! Being Christian, it was incredible because it was as if the Bible came alive before my eyes.
Chantelle, what do you think your greatest personality trait is?
I’m genuinely a joyful person and I love people
If you were having a destination wedding where would it be?
Bora Bora. I’ve got that part planned out already!
Whose your role model is?
Jesus Christ
Chantelle, what is your most memorable life experience outside of the Bachelor?
Working in Cambodia for 3 months where I worked in an Aids hospital and orphanage – it definitely changed my life.
Last q for Chantelle: What do you plan on doing now that the show is over?
I am a co-founder of a Christian organization called Makaway Kamp, so I am going to get ready for our upcoming winter youth camp! I will be organizing different artists, guests and performers to speak to the youth about acceptance, love and self-worth. As well, I will be working full time, volunteering at my church, hanging out with my family/friends and training for my first half marathon (which is on my bucket list!).
