If you missed it last night Tyler stopped by to answer your questions. Here is what you asked, and what he had to say.

Here’s our first question for Tyler: What did you do during all that downtime? Did the girls confide in you?

The ladies came to build a relationship with Brad, not with me. As for down time? Let’s just say the Tassimo machine has a restraining order against me. Other than that, I spent a lot of time watching the action unfold behind the scenes.

Is Brad as nice as he seems on TV?

Yep, pretty much.

Did Brad ever come to you for help/advice along the way, and if so, how
were you able to coach him along?

I tried not to give advice unless I was asked for it. The main thing I told him was, no matter what choices he made, they would be the right ones because they were his.

Did you watch the previous bachelor shows to see how your successful counterpart Chris Harrison hosted?

I watched previous episodes of The Bachelor, but I’m not here to host like Chris Harrison. I’m here to host like myself.

What do u like about being the host of Bachelor Canada?

What can I say? I’m a sucker for a love story. Plus, I like being part of a really amazing franchise, and the fact that the word “Canada” is attached makes me that much happier.

You’ve seen the decisions Brad’s made — are you confident he’s going to
find what he’s looking for in all of this?

I’m confident he will take the time to consider each decision carefully. I can’t, however, predict the future. That’s between himself and whoever he ultimately chooses (or doesn’t choose).

What can you tell us about the mood inside the Bachelor mansion?

A real juxtaposition of stress and relaxation. The stress for the ladies came from knowing I was showing up with a date card or about drop an info bomb on them. The relaxation came from knowing that they have a pretty magnificent house and all its luxuries to enjoy.

What surprised you most in your experience as Bachelor Canada host?

The amazing reception that I got from diehard fans of The Bachelor franchise. They’ve been so supportive and kind as we pushed this ship out to sea. Sure, there are always going to be a few that long for someone else, but I intend to win them over with my below-average personal skills. Failing that, straight-up cash.

Why do you think Brad likes Whiney so much? Do you think he is unaware of how mean she is towards the other bachlorrettes?

I don’t think he is aware of how Whitney behaves around the bachelorettes. I think he finds her quiet confidence very alluring and wants to find out what’s behind that.

What surprised you most about Brad?

He seemed to know just what to say at the right time. He also knew when to say nothing at all. You can’t teach that.

Tyler, what is your favourite place to visit?

My favourite place to visit in Canada is my hometown in Calgary. But really, anywhere in Canada because all of it is home to me. Outside Canada, my favourite place is the Italian island of Sardinia.

What surprised you most about the bachelorettes?

The ones that impressed me were those who remained true to themselves no matter what situations they were presented with. I was also impressed by their willingness to jump in with both feet and really invest themselves in this journey, which is just as much about them as it is about Brad.

Tyler, what is your biggest phobia?

I don’t know if there’s an official term for it, but it would be the fear of not having anything to say.

Some of these dates are so bold! Do you think you’d be able to do the rappelling date?

Absolutely! Not without a certain level of fear, but I’d like to think there isn’t a challenge I’m not up to.

Are you a little country, or a little rock and roll?

At the risk of sounding cliché, I’m a little bit of both. I think the more important question is: am I more Donny or Marie? And the answer is…I’m more Jimmy Osmond.

As host, did you get to see some parts of Canada that were new to you? What stood out?

It’s coming up in a later episode, but I don’t want to give it away. Sorry! What I can tell you is that it’s east of Winnipeg and it’s a place I’ve always wanted to go.

Any final words or thoughts?

I want to thank everyone for watching and being so supportive of the show. We hope that we’re not just meeting, but exceeding your expectations. We are very proud of it! Thanks for taking the time to chat with me tonight! If you want to find out what I thought of tonight’s episode, check out my blog post at BachelorCanada.ca tomorrow morning.
